Still not the one for me
MarshmallowMan

I bought my mixer in June 2017 and I would've sworn it was the right one for me. I felt like it was even quieter than my little mixers. Well, on Saturday the handle broke off of the bowl. No big deal. I can weld. Today the motor made the worst noise I could imagine coming from a mixer and it seized. I admittedly run this mixer on high speed frequently for my marshmallow business, so it sustains abuse, but with minimal drag on the whisks. Last year I had to replace the whisk not once, but twice, because the wires snapped off. The devil is in the details, and 4 different KitchenAid mixers later I'm wondering if I might be time to try a different company.

We like the bowl capacity, however, the motor is quite loud and sounds like the gears are grinding.

After 20 years, I found the right one

I burned up two professional-series KA mixers. Borrowed Bosche mixers. Used a Hobart. Own and use a Bosche Mini... but I dreamt of a Kitchen Aid that could handle my huge family needs: bread, biscuits, pie crusts, and oh the many, many cookies and sweet breads I make!
This. Machine. Does. It. All.
It's the real deal. This is the kitchenaid you heard about from decades ago. It weighs less than you think, has more power, is stainless steel (dishwasher!) parts, and has the quietest motor of any mixer I've used. Go figure!
Take the plunge. I only regret not having found it sooner. It's like some secret... 3 thumbs up!

Bought this for my restaurant since it is commercial certified. Great price, fast delivery. After two weeks just stopped working, called and they sent a new one quickly and gave return label to return one not working. New one works great.

I bought this a couple of weeks ago. My old 7 qt had slipped a couple of lower speeds due to overuse. This new machine works beautifully even when I quadruple my recipe! Love it

I love the large size and powerful mixer

I have had my 8 quart bowl lift stand mixer for several months now and I use it a minimum of once a week. I do a lot of baking of cookies and all kinds of desserts. I can easily double and sometimes triple recipes without worrying whether it will hold it. It holds it easily! Currently I have a double batch of angel sugar cookies chilling in my refrigerator. This recipe requires 9 cups of flour, so it will be a large batch of cookies. Go for the big mixer like I did! You will never regret it. All the ingredients cream and mix so easily!. The beater attachments are very sturdy too!

I bought this on-line last month to replace an 8 quart that we have used for 4 years at the restaurant that was starting to make some strange grinding noises. My plan is to see if the old one can be rebuilt as a backup...

My 7 quart Viking stand mixer stopped working after 13 years of almost daily use. The repairman informed me the part that broke was no longer available, since they stopped making the mixer some time ago What was I going to do? I asked him if he would recommend a specific mixer to replace it and he said KitchenAid now made an 8-Qt machine that was very high quality and he was sure I wouldn't be disappointed with its performance. He was right! It is the best mixer I have ever owned. I love the extra large bowl for large batches of bread and cookies and it is also great for small batches of pizza dough. The attachments are heavy duty! I asked the repairman about the clicking and he thought it was because KA no longer has a spring where the paddle attaches. He said it should not be a concern. There was a drop or two of oil which I wiped off and there hasn't been any more oil. He said that was nothing to worry about, either. With no worries, I'm enjoying my new mixer and am confident it will serve me well for a long time.

Cookies!
SWEETS!!!

I bought this several months ago to bake a large recipe that I have of Chocolate Chip Cookies (with added corn flakes and oatmeal). The size of the bowl was perfect. I DO NOT like the way the bowl had to lift up and down with the beater still in its place. I prefer the standard home size mixer where the motor section of the mixer lifts up and you can remove your beater.

So Glad I Got The Commercial Kitchenaid Mixer
George R E

I debated over getting this mixer for months, and then after deciding to get it, there was the question of do I get a refurbished or brand new mixer. My son asked me the difference, and it was $200 less and a six month guarantee rather than a two year guarantee. He gave me the $200, and I bought the brand new mixer. If I had it to do over again, I think I would have gotten the refurbished model. I do trust Kitchenaid to do a perfect job of making sure that the refurbished mixers are in perfect shape before they are resold. Check into a refurbished model and save some money. Ok, enough of that.
Refurbished or new, I love this mixer for its size, quality, and power. The paddle and dough hook are made of cast stainless steel! I make a lot of pie dough, and I can easily put in nine cups of flour, four cups of shortening to make a big batch of pie dough. For Christmas Eve I made a huge coconut cake (six cups of flour, ten eggs, etc), and it fit in the 8 quart bowl. And, it can handle triple recipes of cookies.
I read a lot of reviews of this mixer and saw that some had complained of a clicking noise. I have not noticed that with my mixer. I find its working sound appropriate.
A few days ago I went to a San Francisco restaurant that serves mainly souffles, and now I want to use the mixer to beat egg whites. I wish Kitchenaid made a coffer bowl for egg whites.
I found on Amazon a non-Kitchenaid plastic pouring chute, which I like. I do wish Kitchenaid made a plastic pouring shield for this mixer.
If anyone is reading this, it must mean that he/she has a reason for having the larger bowl and power of this appliance. I am so glad I got it.
